MOVING FORWARD

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things,
because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

We are back in St. Petersburg and in our house.  The RV we had been traveling in for three years has sold.  My husband's health no longer allows for permanent travels.   Shorter trips are still in our future in a new, smaller RV and, perhaps by train and plane.

We visited a number of places that I did not document in the blog of this website or on my social media pages.  But I have ideas for a number of paintings from these places.  The new painting Wizards of the Alabama Hills is the first of these.  This painting is done entirely in casein, an ancient water media made from milk.  Unlike other water media it is entirely waterproof once fully dry and cured.  Casein paint 49,000 years old was found in a cave in South Africa.

I will be demonstrating casein at the Florida Watercolor Society, to be held at the Bradenton, FL convention center Oct 1-3.  My demonstration, subject to change, will be at 1 pm on Oct. 1.  You do not need to be a member of FWS, or even an artist, to attend the convention, which is a real bargain.
