Text Box: Learn the Basics of Watercolor Painting in Just 2 Days

Text Box:   This is the equivalent of eight weekly lessons in beginning watercolor. Get hands on experience with watercolor brushes and paper. Learn to lay smooth, graded and variegated washes, to apply watercolor paint to paper in different ways, and to take advantage of the special characteristics of different pigments of watercolor paints.   Learn to mix any color using the three primaries.  Then expand to painting grays, browns, greens and shades of white.  Learn to use masking fluid, plan the use of color and contrast (dark/light –warm/cool­­--hard edge/soft edge).  Get introduced to basic color theory and basic texturing techniques.  Paint two pictures to take home. Materials provided include 2 brushes and a brush holder, watercolor paper and  paint.
